Samurai in feudal Japan
Samurais in feudal Japan were one of the most elite classes of warriors. Their training started in their early childhood. Samurai training included physical training, poetry and spiritual discipline. They also studied kendo, which means the way of the sword, and were expected to follow a moral code called bushido. Girls also received martial arts training but they did not fight in battle but were ready to defend their homeland.
Samurai Armor
If a samurai were to die of his own accord it would be considered a valet end. But, if a samurai were to be captured by his enenmy, instead of humiliation he would commit ritual suicide.
Samurai cared greatly about their hair and how they looked. They would pull their hair back and tie it into a topknot or shave the center of their head. This would help reduce the heat in their helmets. They also would wear colorful patterns on their armor to show they were immodest and conceited. There cloths were usually made out of silk the suit was called a kimono. When a samurai were to go to town just for pleasure he would wear a hat over their face to avoid being recognized in case they were disobeying any rules.

Samurai weapons
A samurai sword was razor sharp and would strike fear into an enemy. Their longest sword the samurai would carry was the katana, which meant “long sword”. Samurai always carried a second sword called a wakizashi. This sword was shorter and more effective in close areas. Another weapon called a tanto was almost like a dagger and could be concealed for sneak attacks. Their armor was designed to be as light a possible and free moving. Samurai would also carry a fan. Most fans are made of paper but the one they carried was made out of metal. It was used for blocking objects or throwing. They would use these in places where weapons were not allowed.
