Women in the middle ages
The rights and jobs of women in medieval times
Women's jobs
Women of the upper class had many responsibly including being in charge of managing/defending the land if the lord was away. Also she was in charge of the household sewing and weaving all of the families clothing and providing supplies. She was trained in sewing and weaving as a child. women of the lower class had totally different duties including working part of the land their husband worked on. Another duty of the lower class women was to keep the children educated.
Women's rights
Women had little to basically no rights. If their husband died and they were widowed the men in their life or the lord that ruled over them decided what happened to them. not to mention the women were put on a strict leash and had little rights partly because the church believed they were either the devil in a body or evil goddesses. with time though women could have two new roles in the 1200's they could become artisans or merchants.
women in japan
In japan women's rights were totally diffrent then europe, an example is off they could own their own land. Another different right was if some women wanted too they could join their husband in warfare because they were taught to defend themselves incase of invaders, they did this by holding daggers up their sleeves with a deadly throw. Men were to respect women and anything they had to say including financial problems or the well being of their family. Although women in Japan were very different then the women in Europe in the Middle Ages they had a couple similar jobs like to take care of the children and clothe everyone in the family
Today women's right in the Middle Ages affects us because maybe women wouldn't have any rights or we would be stuck just were we thousands of years ago where women had no rights. women have come really far from having no rights.
